Apple on Tuesday released macOS Sierra for its laptop and desktop computers. The software update is free, and compatible with the following hardware:
- iMac (late-2009 and later)
- MacBook (late-2009 and later)
- MacBook Pro (2010 and later)
- MacBook Air (2010 and later)
- Mac mini (2010 and later)
- Mac Pro (2010 and later)
If you own any of the above hardware, you can go to the Mac App Store and update to macOS Sierra by locating the macOS Sierra page. Click on ‘Download’ and follow the on-screen instructions. Word of advice, perform a backup of your Mac before installing the update, just in case something does go wrong. Also if it seems to be taking a long time to download, then remember that Apple servers often get swamped on release days.
